REVIEW: Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water & Garnier SkinActive Oil- Infused Micellar Cleansing Water

I have been aware of the Micellar craze for a while now, and even when i saw the original La Roche- Posay and Bioderma version i was instantly hooked.

It certainly does not disappoint either.

If you want clean fresh skin, that you can actually see for yourself, that also doesn't drag the skin, then this is for you.

Also Garnier released the Oil- Infused version which was a little dearer, but claims that it is ideal for drier, more sensitive skins- which at the moment suit me.

BUT

It also states it is 'non greasy' which i am afraid seems a tad bit of a porky pie....

It leaves a slick shiny look to your skin, which if you are a fan of, then by all means, crack on. I, myself am sadly not a lover of this.

So what are the pros and cons of both you ask?

Pros of the Micellar Water:

  • The price, which is usually on a promotion in most places, usually retails for around £3.99 mark
  • It does the job!
  • A little goes a long way, - but with both i would advise to use a facial wipe first to take the majority of your makeup off.
  • Decent amount in the bottle

Cons of the Micellar Water:

  • You do end up using a lot of cotton pads

Pros of the Oil- Infused Water:

  • Removes all of your make up just as well as the original
  • Decent sized bottle. All come as 400ml bottles unless they are the miniature ones
Cons of the Oil- Infused Water:

  • Greasy skin afterwards...its a no from me!
  • The price. Unless its on a promotion this is a little more expensive. Seen it for as much as £6.99
  • If you manage to get the water in your eyes, it can really irritate and sting

So my verdict every time is the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water 10/10 versus 6/10 for the Oil- Infused version.

My January Favourites

So its the end of the first month of the new year. I personally think it has gone very quickly, and soon to be February.

Alot has gone on for me this past month, but anyway here are my favourites.

Lets jump right in...

Johnsons Face Care Combination Wipes 25' love these, never use anything else, i have every single one they do too. Always good for when your too tired or being lazy...

Ardell Natural Demi Wispies Black Lashes since finding these before Christmas, these have become my favourites. Easy to apply, decent price and great quality.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant and Intensive Moisturizing Hand Treatment i received these both plus a few others from the set for Christmas, and they are simply amazing.

Batiste Cherry Dry Shampoo so i think i must purchase these a couple of times a month, ideal for in between washes, or to refresh your hair. My hair is so fine, and this is a must for me.

The Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Shower Gel  i wasn't entirely sure about this as i always thought that Argan Oil was used for your hair... but sure enough smells pretty good, decent sized bottle too. I may purchase again.

Toni & Guy Glamour Serum Drops i use this wet or dry, so either when my hair is damp before drying or once its almost dry. Smells pretty good too.

Madara Cosmetics Time Miracle Cellular Repair Serum so as i am getting ever closer to the big 30, i have been taking the time and making sure my skin care routine is better and that my skin in well hydrated. So i use this in the morning before i use a moisturizer twice a day.

L'Oreal Infallible Fixing Mist i have been using the NYX version throughout December, but saw this and had heard good things about it. Its a taller bottle, and you have to make sure you shake well before use. Definitely be getting another bottle once this is empty. Holds my make up in place all day. Fab

Soap and Glory Face Soap and Clarity 3- in- 1 Daily Detox Vitamin C Facial Wash i have gone through 2 complete bottles of this. This sampler was recently sent to me, so it means i need to get another! Smells good, this has teeny tiny pink micro beads which gently exfoliate your skin, i use this every morning and night, my skin has improved alot since using this.

Soap and Glory The Righteous Butter so like alot of other items from this brand, i seem to go through way too many products, which if i am honest is easily done. This plus the Sugar Crush is divine. Good job!

So anyway have a good evening, and have a great week

October Birchbox

It has been a while since i have subscribed to any beauty boxes, as i had cancelled my Glossybox due to not being fully 'into it'. I had been tempted for a while to try Birchbox. You could say it is the 'original' box.

This is the Back to Basics box

They all come in this cloth drawstring bag which is kinda cute, may come in handy..or not!

My Birchbox included

  • Eyeko Fat Liquid Liner in Black *FULL SIZE*
  • Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat *FULL SIZE*
  • Bioderma Sensibio H20
  • Regenerate Enamel Science Advanced Toothpaste
  • Beaver Professional Hydro Nutritive Moisturizing Shampoo
  • Beaver Professional Hydro Nutritive Moisturizing Conditioner

I chose this box, there were two boxes this month to choose from. Back to Basics or Stylist.

That is it for now

New Skincare Review!

Hey guys, i thought i would do a review today on Soap & Glory's skincare must haves!

I was originally looking for a decent night cream, and possibly a facial oil initially, due to the fact i am reaching the age where i seriously need to get into a proper nighttime routine possibly leading to anti- ageing territory! Ahh!

I was previously doing my usual skincare routine, which was doing its thing, but i never really used a decent quality night cream, which my face was craving.

So i bought these...

Its the Wish Upon A Jar Peptide Rejuvenating Night Cream and Make Yourself Youthful Super Serum.

I didn't realise when i purchased these, that the came looking like this! Pretty expensive packaging if you ask me, and for the price its a bargain!!

So lets do the pros first....

  1. Love the packaging- both super futuristic, love the chrome look on all their skincare lately
  2. Smells really nice too, almost a toffee like scent- not strong, on the serum, the night cream is almost citrus- like, so very nice all in all
  3. Good for the price- both were under the £20 price range bracket- i think these are still on a promotion (will leave link below)
  4. I like that its quite a thick cream, not too heavy either, which can happen with night creams in my opinion. Also the serum is easy to use, its a pump too, so you only need a couple of pumps which i reckon will last a while too.
  5. Left my skin looking brighter after a few days, especially when i first woke up (and trust me, i am not a pretty sight first thing in the morning)!
Then the negatives...

The only thing i found was the  night cream, is a bit mean for sizing... its 45ml, which sounds alot, but its small, could be a bigger jar... The serum on the other hand is pretty decent, would last a while.

So really, not a bad deal, i probably would re buy in the future once these have run out, i am pretty obsessed with Soap & Glory, have been an avid fan for many long years.

Hope this helps!

Until next time....
