30 Days of Beauty- Day 6 and 7...

So a week in, and Day 6 and 7 is pretty much the same.

Day 6- Holy grails
Day 7- Favourite Concealer

I am quite picky when it comes to concealers. If the product doesn't cover what needs to cover then there are problems...

I have tried so many concealers over the years, from the cheapest out there like Natural Collection, to the expensive brands...

Which brings me to my 'Holygrails'.

Both of my concealers that i nip between daily, are either Collection- The Lasting Perfection Concealer in 001 and 002, and MAC Select Cover Up in NW15 and N18.

Both are on completely different prices ranges, from the Collection one priced at £4.19 to the MAC at £15.50

I tend to use either always around my under eye area, and more as a highlighter too. Super blend able too. Although the Collection one sets pretty quickly.

All in all fantastic products, and will keep re purchasing!

Ta for now xx

30 Days of Beauty. Day 5- Favourite YouTube Guru/ Make Up Artist

Day 5....

Slightly different on today's blog... Favourite YouTube Guru/ Make Up Artist.

So i love make up, whether it be playing around with it, watching videos on YouTube videos, going to convention centres, or researching it etc... i love make up!

Over the past year or so, i have watched and subscribed to so many experienced artists and vloggers, who not necessarily are trained and qualified in the field- yet they blow my mind!!

So in my list +LustreLux +Gabriella ♡ @nixiepixi1 @pixiwoos are incredible.

Totally worth watching and are an inspiration, not just to myself but to many others all around the world. Its what i want to do and continue to learn in the future...

30 Days of Beauty. Day 4 Favourite Lipsticks

Day 4, Favourite Lipsticks...

I cannot wear bold and bright lipstick, my lips are too large haha! Too pouty, so i only ever really use lip gloss or concealer.

I also don't see the point in splurging on expensive lipsticks in my case either... Highstreet/ drugstore do pretty good ones in my opinion.

My favourites are only really the Maybelline or Revlon Lip Butters. Last really well, and all under £10.

  • Maybelline Color Sensational Pearl Lipstick in Kiss Pearl 832
  • Maybelline Color Sensational Nude Lipstick in Tantalizing Taupe 725
  • Revlon Color Burst Lip Butter in Sugar Frosting 005

Bye for now xx

30 Days of Beauty- Day 2: Favourite Foundations

So as you can tell, i am already slacking....uh oh!

Day 2: Favourite Foundations... these are my choices, i have alot...

I have an obsession with Loreal products of late, and foundation wise it shows... Their Infallible 24H- Matte is pretty flawless if I'm honest. Amazing coverage, great if you have oily skin or combination skin. One thing i would say is that its almost like a liquid to powder application. It sets quickly, so you have to be quick to work into the skin.

The newest foundation to my collection is the Infallible 24H- Stay Fresh- i have only used this for 4 days, but have to say its got great staying power. I do find their liquid foundations tend to have more of a yellow tone to them, unlike the Matte ones, which are more pinkish...(something to be aware of maybe..).

The Rimmel Match Perfection foundation is pretty incredible. For one, the price is great. £7.99 for a foundation ,that is build able, medium to high coverage, long lasting and affordable is a good thing. I personally wouldn't recommend their other foundations of late, like the Wake Me Up one, as i find its not got good staying power, but this is a sure winner to my list!

Last but not least, is one of my holy grail foundations. Its Mac Pro Longwear SPF 10 Foundation. The dearer one of the bunch, and the darkest of the lot (I'm naturally at the moment, very pale...boo), this is N18. Amazing product, i have had so many of these bottles, i have a strange collection of the empties...I think a NC15 is in order soon....

Happy Saturday! xx

Strawberry Cheesecake Cupcakes

So a few days ago, i was itching to do a bake of some kind, and had been deliberating over doing a large cake or a batch of cupcakes. After alot of thought, these were made....and consumed!

Makes 12 (plus maybe 2 more...)

For the sponges

Muffin cases
240g plain flour
280g caster sugar
2tsp baking powder
80g unsalted butter
180ml milk
1tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggs
12 large strawberries (cut up small)
4 digestive biscuits

For the Cream Cheese Frosting

500g icing sugar
70g unsalted butter- at room temperature
180g Philadelphia

Heat your oven to 180c

Put the flour, sugar, butter, baking powder into your mixer- (you could do this by hand, but it will take you a while!), on a slow speed to start off with, and let it all combine for about 5 minutes or so, until you get a sandy consistency.

Next in a jug, add your eggs and vanilla extract, and mix together, add this into your dry mix and allow another 3-4 minutes to mix.

Meanwhile chop your strawberries and put an even amount into your cases, which should be lined in your muffin tin.

Slowly in stages add your milk- you may find you might not need all of the milk, this can be different each and every time you make these. Its normal.

You will find that the mixture once all of your ingredients are in your mixing bowl, should look gloopy, and almost runny. This is how its meant to be, the end result will be light, fluffy cupcakes!

Spoon the cake mixture into your cases, on top of the strawberries, i would only fill to just over half, as they will rise ALOT, and you do not want them to over flow.

Once this is done, bake in your oven for about 22- 25 minutes.

DO NOT OPEN YOUR OVEN DOOR!

Leave to cool for about 10 mins in the tin itself, before letting to cool completely on a wire rack.

The cakes will have soggy bottoms, as the strawberries have done this. This is fine, you will find that the fruit will have sunk which is normal.

Cream Cheese Frosting

Add your icing sugar, Philadelphia and half the butter, into your cold mixing bowl, and put onto the slowest speed your machine will go.

Allow at least 5-7 mins for all of the ingredients to combine, then when you are happy with how it is looking add the remaining butter and continue for further 5 minutes, making sure you scrap down and around the bowl at the end.

If you find the frosting is too 'wet', turn the machine off and put the bowl into the fridge for a few minutes, to firm up.

When your cakes are cold, you can either pipe the icing on or using a round ended palette knife to spread it on the cupcakes.

Finish with a sprinkle of crumbled digestives!

Well done!

Now enjoy!!

30 Days of Beauty...

So there is a 'thing' currently spreading across Instagram. Its called, #30DaysofBeauty. Its been coming up on my feed for while now, and i thought, why not see if i can join that band wagon myself?

So, over the next 30 days, i too will be posting and reviewing what i believe are my personal favourites over the topics which include favourite foundations, skincare creams, least favourite products, and top beauty looks etc...

Too start off then, here is my #30DaysofBeauty 'hashtag'.

Day 1: Favourite Brands.

I have had to narrow it down, as i have alot of favourite brands.

So here is what i chose for mine.

Urban Decay
MAC
Collection (formally Collection2000)
Loreal
Soap & Glory

I wont elaborate on the items themselves, no doubt i will waffle on later on in the month...

What are your favourites?

Bye for now xx

Billboard Music Awards 2015

I love when a new awards event happens on the other side of the pond... and although i do not always stay up past 12am to catch the live action, i do then tend to spend most of my morning raking through all the photos and take notes down!

                                          Its all about the fashion..darlings!

So to kick things off, i thought as everyone must have seen the gorgeous new 'resident' of Las Vegas, the one and only lady herself, Miss Jennifer Lopez. Wowza!

Both herself and her stylist Marcel Haenn chose this gown from one of her favourite designers Charbel Zoe, and teamed with a classic white Louboutin pump. She has worn this designers gowns a few times this past year, and you have to admit it works. But i do wonder whether she could be a bit more 'out there' regarding her choices. She has a banging body, and could pull off wearing a bin bag, but i think she could mix it up and surprise us?!

My best dressed of the night was down to these lovely ladies... Apart from J. Lo obviously, they were the only ones i would say stood out for me. What do you think?

So to start, i thought that yes, it does look a bit obvious, but yes we are in Vegas!! It works!!

Danica McKellar from the show Where Hope Grows, wows in this 'disco- inspired' sequin styled gown (unsure of designer atm), almost rose pink in colour too. Beautiful.

Taylor Swift, stood out for me, as she knows how to dress for her statuesque figure. She shone tonight wearing Balmain SS15, this white cut- out jumpsuit, that her stylist Joseph Cassell picked out for her, teamed with well known shoe designer Brian Atwood, in the Tribeca shoes. She can do no wrong. Loved the hair too!

Yet no surprise, that i couldn't do a blog or Insta post without at least one Kardashian in it....

Actually liked Kylie Jenner in this leather black and gold striped Balmain mini dress, which she teamed with a matching manicure... o and i am in love with her gladiator heels!! Noticed her pout is slightly smaller? ;)

And then there was the worst dressed.... o dear.

There were a fair few poorly dressed on the red carpet, but i have narrowed it down to 3, with the worst below...

O Britney, why o why? This dress does absolutely nothing for you, its like a heavy sack, do show off your figure with something a more flattering! Plus its way to long for you, almost like its come straight of the rack, so maybe not custom- made this time around?

Jenette McCurdy, the Sam & Cat actress, got the tone of colouring wrong i think on this mermaid style dress... maybe slightly stronger in blue, would have maybe pulled this off. Sorry. Beautiful girl though.

Really cannot put my finger on what i exactly do not like about this dress worn by Kerri Kasem. It looks very dated, frumpy and completely wrong for a Vegas red carpet event. That's all!

But i must say the worst dressed of my choices goes to Rita Ora.

I know she likes to wow, and i get that i really do, but the fact she admitted she was wearing no underwear at all, cheapens it for me. Can see why Calvin moved on....

Loved her hair and makeup, and sadly that's about it for her.... even her Giuseppe Zanotti metal sandals are ugly....

Anyway ending on a high note, just love these two. Every time i see them both, it just looks genuine and they always look incredibly happy together.

Chrissy Teigan & John Legend

She was hosting along side Ludacris and her energy is fab! She also rocked Balmain, with this striped jumpsuit, accompanied by her husband who performed tonight. Love them.

Bye lovelies xx
